Take Back the Night

It’s been a tricky summer, for me at least.

And while the heat has been wearing on me considerably, it’s kept me close to my couch, and afforded me the laziness to re-watch most of the fourth season of 90210.

The fourth season of 90210 is a hazy in between.  The first year of college.  The last year of Brenda.

High school was all about losing your virginity at the Spring Dance, exchanging an egg to get into a rave and watching your dad get blown up by a car bomb.  Your adulthood will be marked by the unwelcome arrival of Valerie Malone, all of your friends getting the same haircut, and your beloved diner annexing a night club.  The fourth season also gives us an episode in which our friend Steve Sanders is accused of date rape.   Her name is Laura, later she’ll try to steal Brenda’s part in a campus production of a Tennessee Williams play.   She never said no, but she never said yes.  Was it rape, or is Steve just a Really Good Guy?

Kelly Taylor:  “I know him and he’s not like that.”

Oh.
