Peeing all over sacred cows/A very sexy baby
When I have more than one beer at home, and perhaps I’m watching television, sometimes I start in on an impassioned monologue about 30 Rock, how it keeps my TV feminist. How having our Tina Fey write our Jenna Maloney helps me get up in the morning (I’m a cheap date at home, who digs her TV and popular feminism).
I’ve been so busy with work this season, that I hadn’t the opportunity to really digest the most recent episode, in which 30 Rock takes on Jezebel taking on the Daily Show. Fortunately Rebecca Traister did the work for me, so I can just open up my mouth like a baby bird.
“…different strands of feminism — or any kind of social activism — can work in contradiction to each other. Just because there’s no one correct answer doesn’t mean that the questions are useless or boring; they’re interesting enough to plot a sitcom around.”
